     October 1, 2018
     9:00 am - 11:00 am

The Central Florida Chapter of ASSP WISE is sponsoring a self-defense class for women and girls over the age of 14.  The Self-defense Awareness & Familiarization Exchange (SAFE) Program is an initiative to stop violence against teenage and adult women.  This is a FREE unparalleled 2-hour educational awareness, crime-victim prevention program designed by the National Self-Defense Institute. This program encompasses Strategies, Techniques, Options, and Prevention – that provide teenage & adult women with information that may reduce their risk of exposure to violence and introduces them to the basic physical aspects of self-defense.   The course is limited to 25 participants, and is funded by a grant from the Winter Park Community Foundation.  Participants will become familiar with the “survival mindset” and practice several techniques for avoiding potential abduction encounters perpetrated against women.
