Whether you are a 20-year member or checking out our page for the first time, we are so excited you are here! As the chapter year has just begun, we are looking forward to all that the 2026-2027 year will bring. Our board members had a productive planning meeting in July to develop our strategy for the new year. Our core focuses this year will be on leadership commitment, member engagement, chapter growth & success, and key success indicators. As we look to increase member engagement, if you have someone in mind that would benefit from learning more about our ASSP chapter, please invite them as their first meeting is complimentary!

Central Florida Chapter Professional Development Grant Application

The Central Florida Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) is pleased to announce an annual Professional Development Grant in the amount of $500.00 to be awarded to a member of the Central Florida Chapter. Applications will be reviewed by the Awards and Honors Committee and the Chapter Board will determine to whom the grant will be honored. This form must be submitted by November 1^st, 2026. Safety Professional of the Year (SPY)

The Edgar Monsanto Queeny Safety Professional of the Year Award is awarded annually to an ASSP member who demonstrates outstanding achievement in the occupational safety and health (OSH) field while also advancing the OSH profession overall. The award is named for Edgar Monsanto Queeny, who exhibited unwavering commitment to workplace safety after a tragic industrial explosion in the late 1940s destroyed Monsanto’s Texas City plant, killing 512 people, including 145 employees. The tragedy moved him to place a greater emphasis on safety in the company’s operations. To this day, the firm’s safety record reflects his deep personal commitment to protecting workers. Through this award, Monsanto Company proudly supports our members efforts to create safe work environments that will lead to a safer, stronger future.
