April 19 – Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Event

ASSP Central Florida Chapter will have a volunteer event with Habitat for Humanity on April 19, 2019.  The event is free and lunch will be provided by the Chapter.  Please sign up in advance so we have a head-count for lunch.  Information from the Habitat folks is as follows:

We’re excited to have you! Helping on a Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County construction site is one of the most unique, hands-on experiences in Central Florida. Whether you have never swung a hammer or you’re a seasoned professional, we provide the training and tools needed to make a difference. From building new homes to repairing existing ones, all construction volunteers build the strength and self-reliance a family needs to change their lives through home-ownership. 

All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Volunteers under the age of 18 are restricted to certain construction activities.

Here is the break down for the day:

8:00am – 8:15am Check-in – Please arrive no later than 8:15am.

8:30am – 8:45am Introductions, safety and job tasks

8:45am – 11:15 am Work

11:15am – 12:00pm Break for Lunch 

12:00pm – 2:00pm Work

2:00pm Clean-up
