Our next meeting is at 11:30 AM on February 13th, 2020, at Sugar Cane Growers Cooperative of Florida (1500 George Wedgworth Way, Belle Glade, Florida, 33430).
The speaker for this meeting is Robert Orr, ESS – Environmental Safety and Security, from Sugar Cane Growers Coop. Our meeting will begin on the fourth floor of their main office. After lunch, (payment links are below) we will take a ride over to Tellus for a tour of their packaging process. Based in Belle Glade, Tellus is a company that recycles leftover sugarcane fiber from the sugar milling process. The fibers are converted to packaging and food service products, such as plates, bowls, and takeout containers. For more information on Tellus, please visit: https://www.tellusproducts.com/
Please keep in mind that this is a work site and work appropriate clothing is required, i.e. long pants, a short sleeve shirt or long sleeve shirt, and safety shoes. Hard hats can be provided, but if you own your own hard hat, please bring it with you as well.
I highly recommend attending this tour. If you are currently not a member, please consider becoming a member of our section.
