Gabbie Pace Selected as NSC Rising Star of Safety
Each year, the National Safety Council (NSC) honors individuals under age 40 with the Rising Stars of Safety Award for demonstrating leadership and dedication to safety at work. Nominees must have a proven track record of safety leadership and promoting continuous safety improvement. Central Florida Chapter Member, Emerging Professionals Chair, and Walt Disney World Safety Professional Gabbie Pace was selected from hundreds of applicants to be recognized with the 2019 class. “The Rising Stars seek new ways to tackle both emerging and long-standing safety issues,” said NSC President and CEO Lorraine Martin. “They are pillars of their organizations. They have what it takes to keep people around them safe with hard work, ingenuity and a fresh perspective.”
The NSC recognized Gabbie for her dedication and passion to safety and wellness, including her work co-chairing the Magic Kingdom Wellness team, her partnership in rolling out the Industrial Athlete pilot, developing and driving the Magic Kingdom Merchandise Safety and Wellness strategy and associated tactics, all resulting in improved safety/wellness culture and an associated 60% reduction in OSHA incidents.
The 2019 Class of Rising Stars will be recognized at the NSC Congress & Expo in San Diego this week and featured the 2019 NSC Rising Stars in the September 2019 issue of Safety+Health magazine (article begins on page 78). NSC will continue to spotlight the achievements of 2019 honorees and look to all NSC Rising Stars as future leaders and valuable resources in preventing injuries and saving lives.
Please extend your congratulations to Gabbie!
